Two Sisters is a series by Nadia Sablin, a photographer based in Brooklyn and St. Petersburg. It’s a quietly powerful series that documents the lives of her two elderly aunts. They live in a home built by their father in 1952 (made from disassembling his prior home and floating the pieces down the river to a new location) and occupy themselves with activities from another world almost removed from time. It’s a beautiful series, and it’s no wonder that it resulted in┬áSablin being chosen as the recipient of the Firecracker Grant (which provides funding for a female photographer to complete a documentary photographic project).
